Hi, I’m Emily Shay, founder of No Ruff Days.

I started No Ruff Days with a simple goal: to provide dependable, knowledgeable, and genuinely personalized care for every pet entrusted to me. I believe great pet care goes beyond completing a walk or visit. It means taking the time to understand each pet’s personality, routine, comfort level, and individual needs.

With more than three years of professional pet care experience throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties, I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and care needs. My approach focuses on patience, positive reinforcement, safety, and building trust, so every pet can feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.

I am Pet CPR certified and currently continuing my education in professional dog training. I also have experience caring for senior and special needs pets and administering medications, including insulin. Whether your pet is joining us for an adventurous pack hike, heading out for a daily walk, enjoying an in home visit, or receiving overnight care, my priority is always to provide thoughtful care that is tailored to them.
